The proposed wind farm will consist of up to 12 wind turbines which will be connected to the national electricity grid through two underground 11kV cables or a single underground 32kV cable at the Enemalta distribution centre in Mosta.
The proposed site is located at Wied Rini on the North West coast of Malta in the vicinity of Bahrija and Mtahleb. The site extends from Wied Rini to an area known as tal-Merhla that lies in the limits of Mtahleb. The project covers an area of circa 0.65km2 with the altitude being around 200 metres above sea level.

AIS Environmental has successfully completed the EIA for a new Powerstation at Delimara. The proposed development consists of eight Wartsila 18V46 medium speed diesel engines capable of burning Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) and gasoil, and a steam turbine which is operated by steam generated by boilers which recover heat from the exhaust of the diesel engines.
The EIA looked at issues of waste management, impacts on the marine environment, visual impact, noise, air quality, contamination and risk assessment. The air quality study included air dispersion and stock determination modeling.
