Strategic Environmental Impact Assessment (SEA)

SEA_IntroductionA Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) is a formal and systematic analysis of the environmental affects of a policy, plan or programme or any other proposed strategic maction.  The SEA process extends the aims and principles of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) beyond the project level.

The SEA process examines individual outputs of the planning process and it may propose any necessary amendments to maximise the environmental benefits and minimise negative impacts and risks.
